in metaphase 1 of meiosis, the homologous chromosome will formed a tetrad( because each of it got 2 sister chromatid). but in mitosis each chromosome will array in metaphase plate. example, let said, human got 46 chromosome or 23 pair of chromosome, in meiosis the 23 pair will array in a line, but in mitosis 46 will array in a line. hope you understand
