I am suspicious about the low price from dealextreme. I own two green lasers, both of which I use for star shows. One, which I paid $80, has a beam which loses power after 1 second. The best way for my audience to see it is for me to blink it on and off, which is a bother and I am disappointed with it.

The other, paid $50 on ebay, works great. I am wishing for a more powerful one, one that works well even before the sky is very dark and would also work with some light pollution around. The one I want is around $300.

bottom line: go for the dealextreme first but be prepared to toss it and end up buying the wicked one. BTW: most of the dealextreme reviews seemed contrived and very few dealt with using the laser for astronomical purposes.

They both look roughly equivalent in terms of power output for the price.
But whicheverf one you get, be careful with it. That's B.E. careful. A 5 mw laser can do a lot of eye damage in just a few microseconds. Don't believe the b.u.l.l.s.h.i.t. about the IR components being the only ones that can do any damage. There's a lot of eye surgery that gets done at 535 nm with 40 or 50 mw and that includes tissue cutting and stitching. Especially on the retina. Even 5 mw can cause permanent damage.
