I supose even if they don't anounce it, is it still a possibilaty? I mean like how PS3 has just come out and it would be a good idea as they could extend the graphics and so...

I know lots of people think that Square Soft have put it aside but is it still a possiblity?? I would hope they would because after some of the disipointment of X-2 ( even though i really still enjoyed it ) they could go out with a bang and make X-3 so much better than X-2. One more thing how long does it take to make a game like FFX?? cuse i think they could be working on it for a long time and then relese it when noone expects it because i think that would make people kinda wanna buy it. ( i talk alot don't i?)

Right now, the short answer is No.
The long answer, anything is a possibility, and every once in a while, Square goes back and revisits old properties and makes them into new games. Look at Final Fantasy VII, all of the recent add ons to that story. And, Final Fantasy IV is getting a new DS overhaul. So, when the right people get freed up, and someone thinks this is a good idea, they may make it again.
They have spun some of these characters off in Cameo roles in the Kingdom Hearts Series as well, so it is not likely they are completely done with everyone just yet.

In a recent interview conducted by Japanese site 1984, Final Fantasy X-2 producer Yoshinori Kitase commented that the possibility of a Final Fantasy X-3 going into development is very unlikely. In addition, Kitase commented that users should expect Final Fantasy X-2 to be quite different from any of the previous games in the Final Fantasy series.
"In making the Final Fantasy series, we've had a lot of challenges, but there's also been points where we had to stay conservative," Kitase said. "X-2 has been a change for us since it's [the first time a game in the series has been a] sequel, so we took the opportunity to do a lot of things that we usually hold back on."
Kitase also confirmed that Final Fantasy XII is already in development at Square

that's the one with all of the dresspheres or whatever right? lol I always judged my brother for playing that one but I remember after a while thinking it was cool when you go to the vegnagun place and it had some shout outs to the first one. I liked the part where you killed the aeons in each temple, and the part where you beat that guy in the shooting competition. I just remember not understanding Shuyin at all. WHO IS SHUYIN and who was Lenne. I was so confused with the plot lol I guess all the spherehunting and dress spheres distracted me especially since all the outfits were pretty much for a guy's eye to enjoy while he had to deal with the annoying dialogue from rikku and yuna lol and what was Paine's purpose again I don't remember. Im curious though, what do u think of X-2? That makes so much more sense... I was always like WTF when he used Tidus stuff like are they that lazy they cant make up new stuff lol but one last question, which sequel do you think is better 13-2 or 10-2

It's possible, but since X-2 was pretty thoroughly ripped apart by critics and most FF fans, it's unlikely.
Plus they are already planning on Fabula Nova Crystalis (the collection of FF13 games) to take them 10 years to make. They really don't need more on their plate.

Nope..
Edit: Even though there are rumors of a Final Fantasy X-3, majority of those were made 4 years ago.
I'm sure Square Enix would've confirmed it by now if they were making one.
So I highly doubt they would make a third part this late.

Square finished the storyline if you get 100% on X-2, so its pretty doubtful we'll see an X-3.

I highly doubt it. There really isn't anything to fight or save anymore. Yuna basically made everything perfect in X-2.
