I prefer Myspace. Perhaps it's just because I'm more familiar with it, but it seem easier to embed more interesting (customizable) content in a Myspace profile than in facebook. Also there are probably more sites offering script codes for myspace as well. I use myspace to meet interesting people and to look for online activist groups like Greenpeace and Food Not Bombs. The music is easy to find and sort through on myspace too. One thing I can tell you is to AVOID Orkut. Don't even bother wasting your time with that boring system. Hope this helps!

Myspace has more probs in that you get hit by tons of 'friend requests and emails,' which of course are spam.
For those that don't like the adult element, I say, keep off it! No one is -forcing you- to visit that page/group/whatever. Just click back, and look elsewhere. I'd much rather have these people express themselves, than having to worry about our freedoms surpressed. Nazis supressed Jews, Gypsies, and others. Want a repeat of that?
I've said this on other places on the web. Myspace has been in the top 10 sites in the world for some time: up with MSN, Yahoo, and Google. If your any sort of indy artist, band, writer, or film maker, than this is the place to promo yourself. Get a good following here, and you've a good chance of success!

myspace is better although facebook is not bad it really depends on you. if you like to meet knew people and want the option to view their page before adding them as a friend then myspace is for you. if you already know who your friends are and just want them to be added then perhaps facebook is for you. but you'll deffinatly not be bored on myspace with all the interestinng that goes on and all the people probably interested in meeting you.

Facebook used to be volumes better, but ever since they started letting moron high school turds in, its starting to turn into myspace. Myspace is a total disgrace. Poor coding, lousy hardware, and about 75 million fake profiles. Total spamfest.

Myspace has gotten too much media and is too popular so it is getting more and more people and becoming overcrowded with more areas for problems and things occuring, so Facebook.
