HI, I have a 1992 toyota paseo with automatic transmission, and I have been getting low gas mileage lately(last 2 times I filled up at gas station chevron). I usually get about 105-120 street miles(non highway) per half tank but recently its been around 70-80 miles. What could be wrong? I change the oil every 3 months, and i just recently changed the air filter, and its still made no difference, maybe even worse. The car runs just like it did when it came out of the assembly line, what could I check next? The transmission oil is only 1 year old too, and tire pressure is exact. the car has a 1.5ltr engine, and 100 horsepower, and a 11 gallon tank.

Change your spark plugs and fuel filter. That will help drastically, and while you are at it toss some injector cleaner in the gas tank. I recommend dumping half a can of seafoam in your gas tank, the other half where you put your oil. That helps clean out your injectors, oil pathways, fuel rails, etc. If you do all that, I guarantee you will see an increase in gas mileage. Might want to also upgrade spark plug wires and possibly distributor cap while you are at it. None of that is too terribly expensive either.

Change your spark plugs and gasoline clear out. That will support tremendously, and whilst you're at it toss a few injector cleanser within the gasoline tank. I advise dumping part a can of seafoam on your gasoline tank, the opposite part in which you place your oil. That is helping blank out your injectors, oil pathways, gasoline rails, and many others. If you do all that, I warranty you'll see an expand in gasoline mileage. Might wish to additionally improve spark plug wires and probably distributor cap whilst you're at it. None of that's too extraordinarily high-priced both.
