Ok, Well my hubby have a child from a previous relationship, that child is 3 yo , we are in a 2 yr relationship with only 6 months of marriage and a 3 month old babyboy. When I 1st was meeting his son I was excited until I saw him, what let me down is that this child of his OBVIOUSLY DOESNT LOOK LIKE HIM what so ever. I never brought it to his attention because he acknowledges his son, well not until I was 8 months pregnant and realized that not only didnt the son look like him by just a glance but this little boy have features that neither the mother have nor my hubby have, such as his shape head, ears, and eyes but definitly has his mothers nose, mouth and smile. I understand that you can look like another relative but this child doesnt look related to either family on both sides of my husbands. Our son looks just like my hubby. My husband can make child that look like him and has stongs genes. Can his son just not look like him and ONLY like the mother? Is that geneticaly possible?

There is something called "recessive genes".
There are kids that grow into their features and then start looking more like their parents.
There is also something called a DNA test... painless... cotton swabs in the jaw. It can set your husband free from child support payments that he did not incur.

Yes, it is genetically possible, but why worry about it? Your husband loves the boy as his son so don't cast doubt on it. Why upset a father son relationship?

Yes, it is definitely genetically possible. I look like my Mother and nothing at all like my Dad. Also, I know a mother of 3 girls....she is brown hair and brown eyed, and 2 of her daughters are blonde hair, blue eyes and one of her daughters is red hair, green eyes. The father is red hair, green eyes. So...in that family, NONE of her daughters looks anything at all like her, and only one of their 3 looks like the father. Hope this helps.

wow thats a shame you put doubt in your husbands mind.. children can look like one or the other and then can look like someone way down the gene pool. i have a sister that doesnt look like any of us.. but shes mom and dads. i feel bad for the child that you are judging him on his looks.. shame shame... you need to be a good step mother.. not a judger..

Unless you do dna testing you should assume that this child belongs to your husband.....My 17 year old daughter is blonde and has green eyes...Both my ex husband and I have dark features with dark eyes and dark hair....she looks nothing like either one of us.....but I can assure you that she belongs to us.....children don't always look like their parents...so no I don't think it is that weird at all....

yes, it is genetically possible. but the only way to prove it is thru testing. i doubt your husband would be happy with that suggestion though.
