Yes. I volunteer in a jail, I was asked by a guard to inform an inmate that her husband had died while she was locked up.
I am a Pastor, so I find myself having to bear bad news more than I would like. However, there is a good aspect to it, I have the opportunity to give them a shoulder to cry on.
That being said, I would much rather bear good tiding of great joy.

Yes I have and it was not much fun. When I worked, I used to have to tell people that their positions were being eliminated, and that there were no other jobs for that individuals specific qualifications within the company.

Most difficult and I did not like having to do that.

When my Uncle (56) died from pneumonia I got the call at work and had to go to my Dad's work and tell him. I saw him emotionally and physically shocked and deflated. It was hard but in the long run I was the best one to do it.

Together we worked with my Aunt (they lived across the country) to plan his funeral out there and we held a memorial service for him here.

We did well by him and I like to think that he watches over us.

Yes when my sister passed away 2 years ago my mother was to upset to call the relatives. So it was my job to do that. And make most of the arrangements.

Unfortunately yes. It was bad news for my friend and I felt horrible when she started crying, but she was glad she heard it from me first instead of someone else.

Yes...

And I hate to be the one to tell ya', but...

That fungus behind your refrigerator has developed a ravenous taste for human flesh...

And the mutant people under your stairs have escaped into the neighborhood again...

Sorry...just thought I'd let you know...

They just disemboweled the paperboy, and they're eating his entrails right now...

(I didn't get my paper this morning...)

Yeah, I had to tell my friend ( who was in the hospital with her 1 month old baby who has pneumonia) that her boyfriend was cheating on her with two girls. Including her best friend.
