If I were traveling to your country and didn't speak your country's language would I be able to communicate with american english?

I live in Canada, and our official languages are English & French! You would be able to speak/communicate with American English, it'll just be a little strange, since I have heard that our English sounds a little bit different than American English, dunno if that's true or not, but that's what I hear. Canada is such a wonderful and diverse country. It is diverse in cultures, animals, and landscapes. I think, in my opinion, Canada's lifestyle is just like the States.

70 percent of the worlds population speaks English.
Some people even speak English better as their second language, than some American do as their natural language

Here in the USA english is fast becoming a second language.

INDIA has largest english speaking population in world.
definately you can but you should choose right person because rikshaw pullers or taxi drivers don't speak english may be some of them can but i prefer well dressed people about 90% of them will be able to communicate.

well i was born in peru and speak spanish, but my parents are chinese, so i have to speak some chinese to them, and now that we are living in canada i have to speak in english
