ok i finally watched inuyasha epidose 167... and i cant find 168, i keep hearing that 167 was the last show but uhhh that really wasnt much of an ending... the story is still wide open. so could somebody please tell me what number the last episode is? Im about to be very upset >.<

There were only 167 episodes. The anime cancelled back in 2004. You are just hearing a very bad rumor about episodes after 167. There are no plans for any more episodes or movies by Viz and Sunrise.

The anime caught up with the manga at 167 and they decided not to continue. Thus, no real ending.

That is the last episode. The reason why it ended was because the anime finally caught up with the manga. It was a very nice decision to end honorably instead of maintaining it on the air with an endless filler arc.

I can't remember, so can you tell me if in 167, do they walk into the sunset, saying something about pursuing Naraku......
It that's what happens, that is the last episode. The manga continues though, but not far enough to killing Naraku.
