No, you can get better than that as the local CircuitCity or BestBuy on a Sunday ad/special...it will also have a warranty.

No, probably not, prices drop on computers so fast you can get a new one for the same price, even better specs if you hunt around (walmart etc) see the top link below for a brand new Dell for the same price, and get a 19" for only $20 more

See the other 2 links for Dell coupon codes and other Dells, there is stuff that Dell doesn't advertise on their site, there's always coupons for $350 off a $999 or more Inspiron,

Toying around I just put together a AMD 64x2-5000, 2 gig ram 320g harddrive dvd burner and a 22" digital widescreen for $679 with a coupon (your Gateway is a 64x2 3800)

I'm not trying to shove a Dell at ya, just sayin get the most for your bucks, if your just buying a general mainstream computer unless you get it really cheap I think you really are better off brand new be it HP, Compaq, Dell or?

GoodLuck!

If it is store-bought, yes. If you need a new computer, yes. If you don't play games that require outrageous amounts of computing power, yes.

Otherwise, no.

If it is not sold to you by a retailer, but you are buying it from an individual, please examine it carefully for functionality and speed. And, if you are buying it from an individual rather than a store, be very, very, very sure that you get a receipt Also, if you are buying it from an individual, make sure that you get the operating system installation CD (and the CD-Key) so that (1) when you have problems with the computer in the future, you'll be able to reinstall Windows if necessary, and (2) you'll be able to legitimately activate/use/update Windows XP.

i'd not purchase something.. i do not opt for to "owe" human beings something, nor do i love the idea of human beings questioning they have a say over me because they offered me something expensive..
