Well 50 States covers many;-} I don't know official terms:
Semi-tropical in Florida & California.
Desert in Arizona, Nevada, & New Mexico.
Arctic tundra in Alaska.
Mountainous in the Rockies.
Lush forest in Washington & Oregon.
Tropical in Hawaii.

I'd bet they took this in class.
