Yes, I do think she should get the dog back. She was being a responsible pet owner, which is what I would of done too!
It's not like she gave the dog to some stranger who would abuse it. I adopted a cat and the cat didn't get along with my cat at home so I gave the cat to my brother. No biggie, I gave her a loving home. I like Ellen, she's a good person and she deserves the dog back!

I thought that it was really rotten of that shelter to take the dog away. She only gave it to her friends because her cat didn't get along with the new dog and she didn't want either one of the animals to get hurt in a fight. I think that whoever has the dog now should get to keep it because it would be just as rotten to take the dog away from THAT family too!! I think that Ellen should sue the shelter.

She isn't asking for the dog back, she is asking that the dog be given back to the new family she had found for it. I believe that young children are not the best to have around small animals, however at age 11 and 12 they are plenty old enough. Breaking little girls hearts only proves that these mothers who run this organization don't understand/care what children feel when they become attached to an animal.

I think the family who had the dog after Ellen should get the dog back... it wasnt their fault it had to be taken away and the dog was in a good home.

Why would the policy of the dog shelter be to exclude any family from adopting a puppy that has children younger than 14 years old? Sounds kind of moronic to me.
