I was playing the game fine for a few days, then it all went to crap. Buildings wouldn't load, roads wouldn't load, etc. I figured that my 3 year old video card was going out, so I bought a new one (nothing great, but better than the one I had), and it was even worse with that card.

The game is Grand theft auto san andreas MP

well wouldnt you know its cole again, the fking moron.... and the answer is no... this is the most retarded thing ive ever heard in my life... ram has NOTHING to do with rendering game graphics.... low amounts of ram would just cause your games to lag, as you would not have enough free memory left for the game and background processes to use, thus pushing things into virtual memory on your hard disk. And your hard disk is 1000x slower then your ram, and trying to load items needed for gaming from the hdd will cause increadible delays, thus lag. 4GB of ram is MORE then enough for HARDCORE gaming lol You onyl need more then 4GB if you are planning on doing ALOT of multitasking while gaming, and i mean ALOT. (i have run games, browsers with 5+ tabs, itunes, vent, skype, photoshop, etc all at the same time and STILL STILL never hit 4GB of usage lol) EDIT: well ofcoruse if you have a gtx680 (a $500 graphics card) you would get 8GB over 4GB, as its like $15 more lol But it does not do ANYTHING for performance, 0%, nothing, zilch, nada. Which that is what the question is about, which the question stemmed from cole's idiocy on another question...

The only factor to bad game graphics is the effort the developers put into them plain and simple. It has nothing to do with the system or the t.v.

Just about to submit my answer when i read your explanation. It may not be the game thats doing that unless it is scratched, but it could in fact be your system if it is aging or suffered from some harsh fall or other abuses.

put the better card back in and get the latest up to date drivers from the interweb for it.

* You may wish to try updating your video card and sound card drivers to eliminate a hardware conflict, and to check if new drivers are available for your motherboard.

* look at investigating whether heat may be an issue by removing the case side and allowing plenty of cool air to circulate inside the machine.

* You may wish to check to see if your memory is functioning correctly by running one of the free memory test programs available on the internet.

* Run and upgrade your anti-virus software.

* Try uninstalling and than re-installing the program.

* Try switching between OpenGL and DirectX

* Make sure you are operating in 32 bit mode

* Run a scandisk on your HDD to make sure there are no errors

* Check your PC for viruses/spyware/adaware etc.

Please get back to us if these are unsuccesful.

How much RAM is in your machine? If it's less then 510 I suggest upgrading to 1GB

The game might have gone corrupt, I know this happened to me on GTA: Vice City...if you can, reinstall it? Other than that, I don't know.
