I was just discussing the recent PKK attacks over the Turkish border with my friend, who, a little uninformed about the issue, argued that the Kurds have historically low number of instances of violence. This claim seems a rather questionable, so I was wondering if someone with expertise in the area could confirm/deny this claim.

Thanks!

PKK which is a Kurdish terrorist organization has attacked and been attacking Turkey for years now. Just today, they killed 12 Turkish soldiers and wounded many others.

However, for some reason PKK attacks haven't been given enough attention by the Western world.
