First you should go see a doctor again. Because it could be you have soft tissue damage. Only and MRI will show that. So you need to see your doctor, you may need physical therapy as well. It's normal to feel worse in the days that follow an accident than you do at the time.
It's a little early to think about a lawsuit. You don't know if you are just sore from muscle pain after all it's only been a few days.
Do be careful about talking to the insurance company and don't sign anything until you know for sure you aren't going to have any future pain, etc. Proceed with caution as that is what is best at this point.
Be careful when you do, if you do decide to see a attorney make sure you have one who has your best interest at heart and won't settle until you are ready. Be reasonable though don't expect to get rich because that isn't reality. Just make sure you are compensated for time off of work, Doctor's visits, medication, therapy if needed etc. Most of the time you aren't going to receive much for pain and suffering unless you have significant injuries which mean broken bones, surgeries, permanent damage to nerves, etc.

It's not unusual for patients to begin to experience pain even months after a MVA. I would forgo the chiropractor and seek assistance from your personal medical provider. You should have some x-rays at the very least and possibly MRIs of your spine. Anti-inflammatories can also do wonders for you. Whiplash symptoms can last for several months but you should have a thorough evaluation.
The reason why I advise against a chiropractor at this time is that if your parents do opt to file a legal claim on your behalf, chiropractors are not viewed very well in the court system. They're looked at as not much better than a glorified physical therapist and there are too many cases on file where chiropractors have attempted manipulation therapies (basically where they try to pop "crack" you back into place) without the proper diagnostic studies and cause more damage. Many cannot order MRIs or CT scans and other helpful diagnostic studies nor can they prescribe medications.
Good luck!

most times you don't feel any pain until a few days after the accident...it's very common. I feel at work in a freezer years ago, and got up, and said I was just fine....but that I wanted to fill out an accident report just in case. it's a good thing I did.. about 2-3 days later, I could barely move... I had nerve damage in my back, and had broken my 4th lumbar... I was in serious pain for about 2 months, not to mention physical therapy. Had I not filled out that accident report, I would've been up a creek.
My advice is that if someone from an insurance agency asks you if you have any injuries, I would never say that you don't... even if you are feeling no pain, say that it's possible that you are injured.... never tell them that you are ok... unless you know for sure that you are. Good Luck... I hope you feel better.

go see the doctor again, he might be able to prescribe something for pain. it is not too late for a law suit, your parents are doing the right thing. when i was in a car accident it took 1 year to get a settlement. my dr. sent me to therapy because i had back pains and did that for 3 months. the guy that hit me had to pay for my medical expenses, even the ambulance cost. good luck

I speak from experience...get a lawyer. Even if it just seems like a soft tissue injury, it can last a long time. I thought I could handle the insurance adjustor by myself, but they're trained to not give you money. I waited too late to get a lawyer, and he got me more than I could have by myself, but I still got screwed. I should have had one from the beginning.
As far as a lawsuit, I don't think you can file until you have healed from your injuries (if they're not too bad) and been released by your doctor.
Good luck.

Why don't you first try bed-rest and hot baths for a few days. If that doesn't work, go see an orthopedist, who will probably send you for physical therapy. If the pain doesn't go away in a few weeks, you may want to speak to a personal injury lawyer. Of course, you should contact your insurance company right away. In most states, all of your medical bills and some of your lost wages will be covered.

The pain is very normal. During the wreck every muscle in your body contracted to brace for the impact.... Now your muscles are tired. What you are feeling is essentially the same as after a hardcore workout. The pain will last probably the rest of the week. And a lawsuit over this is ridiculous. Accidents happen.

I would give it a couple days to wear off. If it doesnt, and if you still have problems then you might want to go to the doctor to get checked out again.
But.....if you honestly are not hurt dont go and try to sue someone. That is so wrong to sue somebody when you know you are not hurt. I had someone try that with me over a minor accident years ago. They got some money from my insurance company but not from me. My insurance agent said he knew she was lying, but they settled anyways just to get them to go away.
Remember, next time it could be you causing the accident and having someone threatening to sue you.

Go get another thourough check from your healthcare provider. Insurance should cover the issues. Make sure you tell your parents that if they are getting extra money as a result of YOUR injury that it goes into a growing account for YOU when you move out.
