Why the thumbs down?
Going to the Google conversion site will aid you with all kinds of other conversion, not only themperature conversions.
My advice was practical.

[Farenheit Temp - 32] x 5/9 = Celsius Temp

212 - 32 x 5/9 = 100

C is Celsius
F is Farenheit
C = 5/9 (F-32)

F = 9/5 (C+32)

If you want to make it easier to do with a calculator use 1.8 instead of 5/9 or 9/5.
C= F-32 /1.8
F= Cx1.8+32
to prove use 212 (F) and 100(C) boiling point of water ;
C=212-32/1.8
C=180/1.8
C=100

F= Cx1.8+32
F=100x1.8+32
F=180=32
F=212

roughly multiply Celsius x 3 to equal Fahrenheit OR divide Fahrenheit x 3 to equal Celsius.....I have read ALL of the answers , so far and I cannot believe how insular some respondents are! Get LIFE , people , averages are an important part of our daily lives! You don`t have to be PRECISE about your measurements UNLESS you work for NASA.

Tc = (5/9)*(Tf-32); Tc = temperature in degrees Celsius, Tf = temperature in degrees Fahrenheit

plug in the variables you have and solve.
