Sorry to disagree, but you're only 12 and therefore can't have that much experience. I would say to charge $3 or $4 an hour and as you get a little older and more experienced, raise your rate to $5. If you're still babysitting when you hit 16 or 17, you can justify charging about $8 an hour. Most college girls here make $8 to $10 an hour. I charge $12 to $15 an hour for my after hours jobs (I'm a full time professional nanny with a wonderful family by day and make $32,000 a year). But, I've been taking care of children for 36 years- I should probably be making more! Good Luck!

I charge $5 an hour regaurdless of the ages and number of kids. It's a little low, but its a nice even number, and I get more jobs cuz its reasonable.

I would charge $5-6 an hour, with an additional 50 cents a kid, and if they require diper changing, charge 25 cents for every diper changed.
