Hearing Rap and Hip/Hop. There was these kids on the bus who asked the bus driver if she would put on KS 107.5 and I swear I was in the back of the bus and the back of the bus was honestly shacking. I had to turn my ipod up nearly to full blast to drown out the teribble sound. I mean I said turn on 106.7 or 933 and everyone well 4 kids gave me a dirty look. I said I like alternative, alternative punk, and rock like Green Day Fall Out Boy and Switchfoot. I told them do you want to make my ears bleed?! I mean I'm sick of it the rappers they can't sing they just talk how is that music?

I wasn't considering Green Day or Fall Out Boy rock but Switchfoot is Green Day and FOB are alternative and alternative punk.

I totally agree. Like, I couldn't agree more! I have to do that almost all the time because it's either rap/hip-hop or country. Blah! 106.7 and 93.3? Those are my two favorite stations: are you from CO too? Me= Loveland.

I can hang with some hip hop, but most rap is crap. I takes absolutely no talent to be a rapper. Really, what are the two main styles of rap? Pick a word, any word and find as many other words that rhyme with it as you can. Doesn't even have to make sense, just rhyme. Or the second type, pick a guitar riff from a 70's rock band, add three lines of lyrics and repeat it over and over with a digital drum beat. Big whoop! Any monkey could do that. I'll listen to classical, country, metal, indie, alt but I can't stand rap!

yeah, but I also get sick of emo stuff too... Seriously, their lives aren't THAT bad... they're making money and look at all the little fifteen year old girls that like them... crazy.
Also Green Day, Fall Out Kid, and Switchhand aren't rock, and shouldn't be confused as such. Rock grabs your gut, clings to your memory, and hurtles you through it. It's fun. It's exhilarating. Emo and alternative punk bands just whine and play three chords.
If you want rock, you should seriously look into Skillet, Disciple, Kutless, Jonah33, Day of Fire, Dead Poetic, Falling Up, Fireflight... You like punk? Look into Last Tuesday and Runkidrun.
EDIT: By what stretch of the imagination is Switchfoot rock? They rejected their Christian label, their religion, and now are pop-punk pansies... I saw them once, and I kid you not: their fan base is no older than fourteen.

I do not want to hear it all the time, but i enjoy some rap music as well as a lot of Rock music. Ask the bus driver to be fair and play rap one day and rock the next. No need to hate on a form of music just because you do not li ke it.

to be honest rap isnt that bad it does bring some messages across , i do like rock a f uck load better but my best friends listen to rap when ever i'm in there houses so i guess i dont really mind it.. an eg of a message being brought across is Mosh - Eminem. that's a total anti- Bush song and it does bring across a message that Bush is an a hole to kids who wouldnt be bothered listening to news..

Yes.Right now the hit is "Soldier Boy" and next month these stupid wannabe gangsters will have a new "hit song".And it's all the same.
And what really get's anoying is at scholl all the "gangsters".Theres a place in houston called the heights,it's a real upper class neighborhood,and all these wannabes are trying to make it ghetto.And in like art or something they'll say "Don't drop the red crayon."And also for those dumbasses,the crips and bloods are in california,please,move there.So us smart people would actually have peace.You'd get killed faster than i can outsmart you.
I like the old Gangster rap.It wasn't the same old ****.

i don't see anything in rap or hip hop, it's not my style at all. i think it sucks personally. but good for you since you don't like it either. and if that bus is going to shake then let it shake with the sound of good music. i prefer AFI, Anberlin, The White Stripes etc.

I agree with you there isn't any decent music any more. And rap is just a bunch of noise. And also a lot of the lyrics are very vulgar and disrespectful. I can't stand rap.

sometimes, but i like it...do you ever get sick of listening to rock? Or whatever guys like you listen to? And by the way rock isnt that good either. Just a whole bunch of goth people yelling on stage and shaking their heads vigorously.

Well Yea Rap can get on my nerves very fast!!
I mean I only listen to it IF its mixed in with pop or rock but come on ANYONE can rap!! Its just like talking and rhyming words!!
