OK i was chatting with a technician and told me to do a hard drive test because my laptop kept on backing out once i did it it showed that it failed but i don't think its that bad is there any other way to fix the problem without buying a new hard drive

I am a geek, and do not know what you mean by backing out.

hard drives on laptop are prone to fail reason you knock it about to much...you could down load the manufactures disk utility and do a complete hard drive test,,, if it fails get a new hard drive

first take all the data off the old drive you want to save.. before it is too late

Try running a full disk check with both options checked
