well it's like this.... HP own Compaq,.... they are the same company...
if you're looking for a computer... buy one from a local small computer shop. you'll get a better after sales service.
after sales service and support is one of the main things you should look at,,, and big companies have bad reputations...
so check out the after sale service for each company.. before you buy,,,

Well, it depends on what are you going to use it for. It also depends on Specification. For instance with HP, you get 1 GB ram, 180 GB HD. and with Compaq let say 512 MB Ram, 200 GB hard Drive. I would buy HP. The more RAM the better and faster the PC.

Depends if u want something cheap and portable,then go with compaq but if your looking for something a bit more powerful for games/media etc. go with HP.I prefer HP either way myself!
