You normally dream in stage 4 and in REM (rapid eye movement) sleep. You may be dreaming and not remembering or never coming to these stages. If you don't feel like you are sleeping well you may not be reaching deep sleep. however, if you do feel like you are sleeping well, you proably just don't remember them.

I've heard it has something to do with rem sleep levels.
This sounds silly but if it has been a while since I remember a dream I eat Sweet Pickles before I go to bed. That night I will have a wacko dream that I will remember... must be something in the vinegar.

Every one dreams, there are people who rarely remember their dreams. I'm one of those persons, unless I have a high temperature I don't remember my dreams and since I rarely get sick It can be years between the times that I remember my dreams. You know it might be something that I ask my psychiatrist about and see what he thinks. I'll let you know what he says.

Everybody dreams; some just don't remember their dreams. Studies of people deprived of dreams (REM state of sleep) in a controlled situation, show that they have difficulty with learning and memory.

When I took up meditation 19 years ago I had a lot of vivid dreams. But they gradually tailed off, and I hardly dream now.

Everyone dreams, although I have heard that some people have trouble remembering dreaming because of stress.

you always dream, its just that you don't remember them when you wake up. Try telling yourself a couple times before you go to sleep "I will remember my dreams"

You dream, but if you didn't, you wouldn't be able to work though problems and your memory would really suffer (that's when your body converts short term memories to long term ones).
