last week i went for an ultrasound and my doc was unable to find anything in the sack. she wanted me to have a d&c but I told her that I would rather wait for it to pass on it's own. I started bleeding very lightly on Monday so I know I'm having a miscarriage. I know this is an odd question but Is there anything I can do to speed up the miscarriage?

I'm sorry to hear this,it is very difficult to go through ,i hope for the best for you, however don't have sex or wear tampons this could cause infection, during miscarriage the cervix open and closes which could allow infectious organisms to ascend into your uterus. Don't take baths either. It varies from person to person, mine passed on its own some peoples do not. there is typically nothing you can do to speed it up,however i would suggest taking something for the pain before hand as some can be very painful. and make sure you have a follow up with the doctor to make sure everything has passed.

There is nothing that you can do to speed it up, but your doctor was very wise to want to do a D&C. The reason for this is that if any tissue from the sack is left in the uterus it can cause very savere infection to where you won't even be able to get pregnant again and if the infection sets in really hard it can be life threatening.

So to be safe when you have stopped bleeding and stopped passing tissue then go back to your doctor and have them do another ultra sound to make sure that everything looks o.k. in your uterus.

Trust me you do not want it to pass on it's own. I've had 2 miscarriages. With the 1st one I was 9 weeks and I started bleeding like a period for 2 days and then it just gushed out of me with clots. I was in soo much pain. I ended up in hospital and had a d&c. With the 2nd one I was 10 weeks and I opted for the d&c before the bleeding started. I couldn't go through it again.

This happened to my friend. She had an empty sac ("blighted ovum," where the amniotic sac forms but the embryo fails to develop), and in week 9, she began miscarrying.

There is very little you can do to speed things up. Your body will take its due course. Doctors can recommend a D and C to get it all out/be done with the miscarriage. but as long as your body is doing a thorough job shedding the pregnancy tissue, it is unnecessary. Sexual intercourse is not recommended at this time.

I am sorry for your loss.

I'm sorry for your loss... I don't think there is much you can do to speed it up. I had one in August. I started spotting on the 18th and I passed the entire thing throughout the day of the 19th. The only "fast" fix is to have the D&C. Again, I am terribly sorry to hear about your loss.

maybe have sex.Thats a good question but if you really wanted it to go fast you should have had a Dand C done.Bleeding usually stops quick.
