How well would a 225 slant six hold up with over 300 hp?

that much horsepower could require a lot of upkeep... they say that when building an engine for a daily driver try to stay under a 1.1:1 ratio...(horsepower to cubic inches) so getting above 250 horse or so will start to get more expensive to build and maintain... that is just a ball park ratio that i was taught in college but it is a good rule of thumb... hope this helps and good luck

the 225 slant has a proven track record, you just cant kill that engine.

That depends if you are going to push it hard all the time, or just drive it. We had one and it ran fine for quite a long time.
