"A government for the people, by the people, and for the people". Sound familiar? What you choose to call a common man is the person who is on the outside looking in. They know exactly what's wrong and have ideas for at least a beginning step to fix it. And the person who thinks that a good job has been done thusfar, You seem to be a bit naive. What exactly do you see that they have done for anyone other than themselves? Our gooberment is a joke. There are too many people who care nothing about the public good until election time. "Promises happen during elections, politics is what happens afterwards". A politician said this, I just don't recall which one.

I dont believe anyone, common or uncommon, can be trusted to govern fairly in our system today. The layer upon layer of government bull..t these days is soooooooo thick.
In a sense, "common people" DO govern..these are the people at the dept of motor vehicles, university administrations, police departments, lawyers, judges who are soooooooooo confused and on power trips that you wait hours, days, weeks, months, years and longer to get a drivers license or something else really simple. I have observed the most inefficient, non-caring acts by some of these people...and I wonder...I'm paying taxes for this? You know what I'm talking about. Our representatives..they are not looking out for our best interests. They are sleeping with special interest groups and spending our hard earned dollars on luxuries for themselves...lifelong medical insurance and pensions for serving 2 years "public service". The list goes on ad nauseum....watch the Fleecing of America and you will know more. Our system of government is BROKEN!!!!

Common people with the will to serve the people can be trusted to govern because they have no parties and interests groups to follow. For example, an independent can govern the country according to what is provided for in the constitution without getting any advise from the partymates who wanted that the acts of the President must be coherent with their party platforms and interests.

would it be fair to say that our founding fathers were mostly common people? if I understand what you mean by common, they even went as far to incorporate into our Constitution that there would be no titles in our society such as royalty, however some of our fake lawyers call them selves esquires, "it is sickening" our forefathers were mostly farmers and what I would call common men, and I do believe they are more apt to lead our nation in the same path that our forefathers planed for us to follow, how can some one such as the Kennedy's or Bush's relate to how the so called common people must work and struggle to pay their bills raise their family's and pay their exorbitant taxes, as before the common man would be able to relate to these things and not send our jobs etc out of the country, It amazes me how Clinton who said he was raised by a single mom and had to struggle would be such a turncoat against his own people when he should know their problems, or did he just let Hilary do her thing while he was trying to get sex, poor guy, it is evident that he didn't have it at home Hilary had her own thing going with other girls, and since Hilary was born with a silver spoon in her mouth how the hell can she or the Bush's relate
to the common man?? or any other person wh o has never had to suffer the things the common person has had to,

As far as I know, there are no presidents of the U.S. who were descended from royalty, and hence, they would be considered "common people." In fact, I doubt there are few if any elected officials in the U.S. who are descended from royalty. And they seem to have done all right governing this country.
