Superbugs are regular aliments that have developed resistance to traditional antibiotics. There was a story on the news concerning the super bug version of staff infection which is deadly. However, super bug is only an adjective used to describe any infections(etc) that cannot be treated by common everyday antibiotics. Thus, this can happen often and will if we don't stop over using antibiotics.

This bug is scary but, remember as with any bug that starts like this the key here is sanitation. Wash your hands, use kleenxs, or hankies for sneezes, wipe off toliet seats, door handles and ect. If your using a public bathroom make sure to use those seat covers, wash your hand in warm water with soap. i know it sounds like common sense but, how many people have you seen leave the restroom with out doing any of those things!

If your talking about staph infections-well they been around a while.back before penicillin was invented they were real killers. before WW1 health care experts tried to keep hospital stays as short as possible due to the risk of staph infection. This was one reason why many doctors made house calls.the invention of penicillin knocked staph back, but of course it has evolved into penicillin resistant forms and here we are back where we started.
