What's the deal with US and Turkey relations?

I'm a little behind with the whole Turkey issue. What has been going on lately that has impacted US relations with Turkey? Are the secularists or Muslims in control now? And this past week, what has been the deal with Turkey's military actions in Iraq or with Iraq?

Thorough answers please. And preferably backed up with a few websites. Thanks!

Stupid Dems in Congress censured Turks for Armenian 'genocide' in 1915. Different group of Turks back then. Now they are trying to be Westernized with Europe. Even tho they are mostly Muslims. They have developed the essences of freedom and democracy.

Yep, it's politics. The Dems need to loose the war during the Bush administration quickly before the election, so they can blame the Republicans. They also want to pander to Armenian Americans to get their vote.

Therefore, they bash the Turks so that the Turks will be insulted and cease being allies. This would create huge supply line problems for our troops (and endanger them, but that's never been important to good liberals.)

Notice that the Armenian slaughter happened under the Ottoman Empire, and today's Turks had nothing to do with it.

I would suggest that the government of Turkey censure Democrats for the Democrats' role in supporting slavery in America for so long, and for killing Lincoln, and for installing Andrew Johnson, who screwed-up reconstruction and emancipation. One good turn of injustice and accusations deserves another...
