Sometimes it does seem like an endless struggle, yet those difficulties have a way of making me appreciate the simplest pleasures of life.

No, life does not get easier and it is not ALWAYS an uphill battle.
This answer is for people that are normally healthy, not on drugs, abuse alcohol or otherwise ingest any substance that contributes to an altered state or have trouble processing information because of physical thinking limitations.
There is a very long answer that could be written here, but I will post only what I believe to be the most important.
Expectations! My definition of an expectation is a unilateral thought or desire that is not expressed. In some cases, having an expectation of what
life experiences will be in regard to health, relationships or any other events or situation over which you have absolutely no control leads to a harder life in which it seems like an ongoing uphill battle. Unfulfilled expectations lead to disappointment which can eventually end with depression.
However life can become easier when you actually voice your expectations to another that is involved. At that point you no longer have an expectation, but instead an agreement or a non-agreement.
It is of much importance to hold expectations for the least amount of time before converting them to agreements or non-agreements.
This process will enhance your ability to maintain your flexibility and with flexibility comes an easier path to walk throughout your future.
Some people will say that communication is the most important thing. To those people I answer that in order to communicate, a common language is needed where both parties agree on the meaning of the words used.

it's always an uphill battle no matter if you are alone or with the right person. You have to work at life to get any rewards, if you ride on other people's heels, you never accomplish anything, and when they are no longer their, you are left with what you put out.

I hate to tell you but I don't think so. I am 52 years old and have found that it is always uphill. The situations change but it is still a struggle. As you age, you just don't care as much about what happens,you learn to live with it.

Pretty much uphill but it is made easier by the One who is the Way!

Lk:3:5: Every valley shall be filled, and every mountain and hill shall be brought low; and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough ways shall be made smooth;

Thank God!

I was beginning to think so, but at 36, I decided to slow down and concentrate on what was the most important in my life, concentrate on positives and staying away from all the negativity that I could, and life is SO much better now!
