I'm 38 weeks pregnant and VERY dizzy. It feels like the room keeps spinning. I've felt this way since yesterday evening. It's to the point that I can't drive, and it's making me very queasy. My doctor is an idiot. I called him this morning and told him what's going on. He gave me some medicine and I took it, immidiately I felt worse. I was throwing up and my muscles started tightning up. So I called him and told him it was making me worse. He said if I really feel that bad then go to the hospital. So I did, they gave me fluids bc I was dehydrated, and medicine for nausea. That didn't help either. I went home and ate some crackers, and soup. I've been drinking plenty of water but this feeling won't go away. Even when I lay down, please does anyone know what this is, or what I can do to feel better???

Sounds like you're getting sick? It also sounds like your doctor isn't paying good attention to you. My doc is the same way, medical care isn't great nowadays! :(

Anyhow, when I feel sick I sip some Gatorade and toast. It's about the only thing that works for me. You could try it and see.

You're almost done with the pregnancy, hang in there!

calm down give the medicine a chance to take effect. also get a second opinion at a different hospital ER. If your baby was checked every thing should be okay but if your worried do as I said and go to a different hospital. hope you feel better trust it may be only dehydration like your doctor said so just try to get sleep.

I had the EXACT same problem when i was about 36 wks pregnant. My doc "diagnosed" me with neurocardiogenic syncope which basically causes you to faint or it least gives you the symptoms of it daily. Its not a big deal, just MAKE SURE you tell the doctor about it when you go into labor because there are certain meds they can and cant give you if you do have NCS. Good Luck :)

Ask your doctor to do a blood test to check your Iron level. That's what my doctor did and it turned out that I was anemic. He started me on a iron supplement and I've been feeling alot better since then.

anemia and pregnancy at the same time.... so not fun.

it sounds like vertigo to me, but when i was pregnant id have spells where id feel dizzy and my heart would beat really fast if i ate alot of sugar- the dr didnt know what i was talking about either- the only thing that would help was laying on my left side and not eating candy or syrup- tell the dr to tip your head off the end of the examining table and if your eyes twitch back and forth uncontrolably and you immediately feel like your going to vomit - its a classic case of vertigo- you can check yourself - by tipping your head of the edge of the couch and if you close your eyes and feel them with your hands they will move back rapidly by themselves- hope that help and i hope you feel better, i know it sucks when the drs dont help

It could be anything. You should go to labor and delivery or the ER to see what's wrong. You shouldn't be that sick for that long without someone taking you seriously.

Did they take your blood pressure? Dizziness can be caused by low blood pressure.
