The US had substantial armed forces in the Pacific, after D-Day (June 6, 1944) as well as before. In addition, the British and ANZAC forces were strong and very active, particularly on the Asian continent. The Japanese had their hands full by the time the Allies invaded Germany.

As many a student of World War II could tell you - not all of America's troops were in Germany (Europe), and Japan did not have the logistics to undertake an invasion of the U.S. mainland. Japan was invading Asian countries that did not have a strong or large military.

i've heard rumors that the japanese did scout our coastlines in subs.fact was,they did not have enough manpower.they were spread too thin across the pacific islands.
