I have no Idea maybe behind closed doors but the very few I've meet have been socially excepting (Now that I think of it I've never ran into a racist person or have been picked on because I'm black it's only on here I see the few racist and realize racism is still alive)

I remember going to Coleraine many years ago and was met with the quite possibly the worst racist abuse I have ever encountered anywhere. However one of my best friends and someone whom I miss everyday was Irish. So I suppose everywhere is the same, whatever country you go to you will always find good and bad people. I don't believe any country or race can be racist as a whole....that would just be racist.

History-wise I have heard that because they were treated so horribly for being Irish they used blacks as a scapegoat: i.e. I may be Irish, but at least I'm not black. Sort of the same thing American Southerners had going on.
Not to say this about all Irish people. My husband is Irish and he loves me to death.

no more than any other group. Don't generalise how the Irish view the world cos we're all different.

In general, I would say no. Many of us have empathy for those who face discrimination because we have faced (and still do face it in the six) the same.

Irish Black..........Phil Lynott (Thin Lizzy)
Samantha Mumba....so what Irish are you actually talking about, black ones, white ones??????Every country has bigots ...EVERY one......I know black people who are very racist against anyone who isn't........I even know black Jamaicans who don't like black Nigerians....................so your question is daft.
