Before you start talking about imbeciles, you probably ought to learn how to spell it (and the derivatives of it). It makes you look rather foolish.

Anyway, just where would you draw the line in how much of the tab the government should pick up in the way of health care? And just how (and who) would pay for this coverage?

And what is next? Seems to me if the government should be covering the health care of ALL suffering Americans, it should be meeting more immediate needs. Let's say giving everyone 2 or 3 meals a day. How about housing all the homeless, or better yet, people living in substandard housing.

Just where does personal responsibility kick in...or does it anymore?

Edit: Hmmm!!! You don't check your spelling, eh? I bet you don't worry about the truth behind your accusations either. We wouldn't want anything like those pesky facts to get in the way of a good rant, would we?

Edit: What people do YOU know of that have died due to lack of health care? It's an interesting phenomenon that well-meaning people hear the media touting something as being a crisis, so they automatically assume that it is universally true. But when you try to find someone who has actually experienced the problem first-hand, all of a sudden things get REAL quiet.

BTW, where does the "fatty" reference come from? You do know that my avatar is not real...right? Otherwise, I'd have to say that your statement adds weight to my questioning the importance you actually place on truth and facts.

If you are middle class , and can not afford insurance , you need to manage your money better , I too am middle class , but I am not in the credit trap , and I used low interest rates to pay off my house , not buy a new one , and I never pay more than 5 grand for a car . I do not take vacations either , just what a vacation would cost will pay for insurance , Do you really want the government to pay for it ...lets see here , a minimum wage wal mart employee can give 25% of their earnings to cover health insurance , or let the government do it for you and raise the income taxes 40% to cover it ..with no refunds at tax time ..anytime the government takes care of anything you know good ,and well it is going to cost double and you get less ...taxing the rich will not work , and contrary to popular belief the top wealthiest people are taxed at an all time high ,the richest one percent of Americans pay almost 25% of all taxes , the top 50% under the 1% wealthiest pay a total of 70% leaving the lower middle class , and poor paying in only 5% of all taxes , and they get a refund .. I do not live beyond my means and I can afford it , I have even been able to buy a home for each of my kids , The money you lose on buying a brand new car that cost 30 grand or more over 5 years would cover insurance , My policy for my three kids and their mom , runs about $150.00 per month....If you live in a Democrat dominated area , and pay too much to live , that is your problem , the fact is many States such as Jersey , Rhode Island , Missouri , Vermont , and others already spend more of SCHIP funds on adults than they do children , I do not mind working my tail off to help the poor , which is only 3 to 4 % of America , minus college kids , and lazy people it is about 2% I do not mind helping them , or the disabled , and the senior citizens , ...It does not take education to manage money wisely , All I got was a GED , and I was able to work , save , and spend wisely , to achieve the goals I set for me ,and my family , If the government is going to achieve all of our goals for us , why work at all , let the government do it for you , Do not become blind , if the democrats get their way Hillary in general , her health care , child savings bonds , and other things will cost you and additional 45 top 50% more taxes withheld from your check , and the simplified tax system , is simple , if you owe more you pay it , if you don't then you do nothing , to include getting a refund , and you lose all deductions and tax credits as well , I do not get refunds anyway , If Hillary actually does try to tax the top wealthy people , they can either close up shop , or lay off the work force , Do you really think Gates would be at a loss if he just shut down Microsoft ..?? Every person I know who is middle class could pay for coverage , if they did not spend more for everyday things with credit cards , and financing everything ,and buying new homes ,and cars , and just plain old blowing money , if you are paying on a $200,000.00 home with a 30 year mortgage , instead of a 15 year , the extra 200 thousand plus you are paying for a home for that extra 15 years of financing would cover health insurance for a long time ...What ever happened to basic common sense , I guess you want the Government to give that to you as well ...

You said " its the point democrats were trying to make tonight." ...Uhh , the last I heard of what Pelosi and her bunch was doing was to go back to WW -1 and declare something in Turkish history as Genocide , ?? how does that help with health care , ?? If they had a plan really worth a sh*t , it would get passed very easily , unlike the democrats Veteran Health spending bill they passed last month , in which 4 million dollars went to build a veterans park in Beverly Hills , so the rich can have a park to walk the dog in , because according to the census poll taken , there are less than 1 % of Veterans living in the 90120 zip code ??? Yep them democrats really want to help ... I bet you even complain about the double digit trillion dollar national debt , which will not crash the economy , like the 2.5 trillion dollar consumer debt will if the projected 50% of borrowers default on the credit cards , and mortgages , I guess that is the republicans fault too , for making people buy more than they could afford , I guess they forced most of them to believe that Lenders , and Real Estate Agents are their friends , and they should listen to them too ..

Child.

You must understand that whenever the government gives away someting "free" it means that we all pay for it in our taxes. Nothing is free, anytime, anywhere.

Couple that fact with the simple truth that any program the government tries to pay for ends up costing 10 to 100 times more than it could have been done by private business, will be filled with fraud, waste, and abuse, and will punish the very ones that need it most.

The government cannot even do a decent job taking care of disabled veterans, what makes you think they can handle juvenile leukemia, or other expensive childhood diseases?

One last note. Compare the US postal service to UPS/FEDEX et al. Sure, the government postal service is cheaper than Fedex, but Fedex delivers superior service, faster delivery and pays lots of high wages.

No one thinks that poor children ought to suffer--of course we should provide a safety net, and no Republican will argue that. We don't think people who make $60,000.00 or more a year and have employer-paid insurance ought to be asking for a government handout.

You obviously are ignorant and have fallen for the lies taught to you in Government School if you bothered to attend. It is not the job of the Government to take care of anyone. A middle class person with too many kids, cell phone, cable / satellite, garbage pick up,new car, stereo, video games, dinners out, beer, drugs, computers, etc could afford health care if they managed their money. If you can't afford the things you want at least buy what you need. The answer is not to take money at gunpoint from someone else who works harder and in more intelligent than those who want to be taken care of.

To Ins. Honest

You and I have followed the exact same path w/our $. (I did have the good fortune of a degree)

Would you agree that these common sense guidelines are essential to achieve what we , you & I, consider fiscal responsibility?

1)Pay credit cards off every month, never carry a balance. If you have CC debt, getting rid of it is priorty #1. Essentials only until paid off.
2)Intentionally save $ for lg. purchases (cars, appliances) rather than finance them
3)Avoid installment payment fees. Ex. Auto Ins. are 6mo. policies. Paying monthly is $10 per mo more than if you pay in full.
4)Avoid interest. 15yr loan not 30yr. (you made this pt. & its a good one. Its amazing the # of people who think that means the monthly payment is twice as high rather than about 8% more)
5)Finance items thru sources that make the interest a tax deduction
6)Don't spend $ you don't have

If you agree w/these then I wonder how you can support republican fiscal policy

At least you acknowledged that Republicans dont wish for the nations poor children to starve to death or die from lack of health care.
That a big step up from the accusations made by your lib pals.
I'm middle class.... my job provides health care to my family and I for a fee..

But the poor are most likely to need it and can't afford it. If a family is making 40 to 60 thousand a year I would say it has little need for government medical assistance.

Imbisilic? OMG STAY IN SCHOOL!

Then you can get a good job and get your own damned insurance.

Why should I work hard so YOU don't have to? Lazy. Why are YOU trying to take dollars that truly needy Americans could use?
