*thinks* erm...... the day he died. A few hours later. We had a fast private viewing kindly arranged by the funeral home & nursing home, that he had been in, only a week.
The viewing was, Just myself, immediate family, my gran and a family friend, before he went off to the creamatory.

That was in October, 1995.

*edit* okay no........ i just looked at his picture on my wall, so i'll have to ammend my answer to read 'a few seconds ago'.

My dad is in heaven. He died February 8, 2005.
He was an awesome guy! I loved him soooo much.
The last time I saw him alive was about 5 months before as I live in Florida and he lived in the Catskills in NY.

THIS IS THE DEDICATION I WROTE FOR MY DAD, MY HERO

We love you Dad! You’ve given us your all, your wisdom, your time, your love and concern. We may not have always appreciated it or wanted to hear it but you always tried to steer us in the right direction. Gruff as you were you had a heart of gold. Pure Gold!
Thanks for all the memories!!!
Thanks for all the fishing, hunting & camping trips. The horseback riding ventures and the mountains and streams you brought us to and weren’t afraid to let us explore. Thanks for teaching us to tow a car and tie a sailor’s knot. Thanks for working 3 jobs at a time just to keep a roof over our head, food in our belly and clothes on our backs. Thanks for the football games and the wrestling matches. Thanks for teaching us to respect our elders. We appreciate the time you spent with our children, trying to instill in them the tidbits of wisdom that you had gathered over the years. We
treasure the stories you told us and the hidden lessons in each.
And now Dad, you’ve entered into the Joy of the Lord where you’ll never die, never grow old and never be sick again. Thanks for your simple and sincere faith in God. You didn’t try to be perfect or haughty, just straight up genuine.
We’ll Miss You! Now, hey, go ahead and have that little talk with Jesus that you waited your whole life to do! We’ll see you soon!

Love ya Dad!!!

I'm 29 and I have never met or spoken to him, nor have I even seen a picture of him. From what I hear I should avoid him because he is a bum.

I did call his mother a few years ago, she told me to not call again and leave them alone. I gave an effort that was in vein, knowing now that he hit my real mother while she was pregnant with me (who died a few years ago)...he can go to hell. ;)

When I was 19, about a month before he died. He ruined my spring break from college! (I'm being sarcastic, because this was painful and that's how I deal with things.) It was the first day of spring break in my sophmore year.

Thursday. My parents are divorced and I see him every other weekend, a couple times during the week. But he's on business now. Why do you ask?
