don't be lazy and be a leech. get a new job and make more money.

There is. You can earn up to a certain amount without being penalized.This amount should be on your verification of eligibility. The idea is to not penalize you for working part time.
Above a certain amont, your grant is reduced dollar for dollar, until you earn the max. This is all spelled out.
If during a week while you are on unemloyment you earn enough so you are disqualified for benefits that week, it only affects that week, and that week could be tacked on to the end.
So, theoretically, if you earn enough by working a full week here a full week there,
it just stretches out your unemployment.
So, it is to your advantake to work. Any questions call your state UC office.
