I'm going through a rough time. Just switched jobs to a much better one but it went from a paycheck every week to every two weeks and they took out for uniforms. My friends have come through for me so much more than I could have dreamed. Made me think of that country song. "You find out who your friends are". It is so true. :) I pray I can repay them double for all they have done

I moved from Denver (Go Rockies!!) to Miami, FL for a new job last X-mas. My truck broke down right after I got here. The drunks in Homestead AA got me to and from work, to and from meetings, to and from everywhere until I was able to pay the repair bill on my truck. Others offered financial loans which I'm happy to report have all been repaid. I have put my name on the 12-step list and transportation call list for any out-of-town visitors who want to get to a meeting. I have had a lot of opportunity to travel across the US in AA and I always have a home.

You're very lucky to have found friends that will help you in a situation like that. It's hard for me to trust people bc I've been betrayed by friends so many times. Now my best friend and I are slowly parting ways bc of his new girlfriend. I used to say that I would lose all faith in people if he ever betrayed me. And look where I'm at now...I'm losing him to a jealous girlfriend. I've known him for years so this is a tough one.

Several times, I don't think you really know who your friends are until you've crossed the line and they've forgiven you and/or they've crossed the line and you've forgiven them. If you find it easier to hate them then forgive them then you know the true feelings in your heart

Yes. I have only one true friend other than my relatives, and we are more like sisters than just good friends.
