One long and 2 short beeps is usually Video adapter error. Inspect video card for bloated capacitor, burnt smell or burn marks on the pins. If it checks out ok, just reseat it on the slot. Check monitor cable.

Memory error is usually indicated by repeating beeps (endless loop).

How long have you had the computer? Sometimes if nothing shows up on the monitor, but if your computer sounds can be heard inside your tower then it's possible that your computer motherboard might of fried.

Either that or there might be a problem with the memory. It's best to make sure by opening up your computer.

3 beeps means something is wrong... it can be on the video card or memory....
first clean the copper teeth of the memory.....and video card if you have.... use a pencil eraser.... put it back until the connector snaps in to place....
if it persist... then wiggle the memory to the left or right and try again.... up or down.... for the video card

check your ram. pull it out then clean the contacts. re-install it to the dimm slot. if your mobo has a built-in vga, install your monitor there and pull out your hdd power supply to check if your mobo is broke upon switching your cpu. if something appeared on the screen, re-install the power supply and this time connect your monitor to the video card. if nothing appears on the screen. your vid card needs replacement
