I used to talk to this guy online when I was a teenager (10 years ago). Back then, I gave him my address because he wanted to send me a book. It ended up being a Bible, which I didn't mind. Anyway, this guy started getting obsessive and psycho with me about 4 years ago so I told him to leave me alone. He did...until NOW. Now he's emailing me with some really freakish claims about how my personality is horrible and how I need to take responsibility for what I've done (stop talking to him?) and how I'm not pleasing God and all this other really horrible stuff about how he thinks I'm having sex and abortions, etc. etc. It is COMPLETELY out of line! I told him I didn't want to talk to him, but he continues to send insulting emails to me about how I have personality problems and am disrespectful, etc etc. when it is HE who is projecting all this stuff onto me. Why would someone act like this in the first place...and what can I do? He has my address.

Call the Police. They can track e-mails. Put him on a block or spam list and stop responding to him. The police are your best bet for safety. They can put this guy under arrest for harrasment etc. Good luck.

All bow to the all too common overzealous and totally self absorbed Christian friend... Im not bashing Christians...I am one, but this guy has the "better than you" disease that some believers get all tied up in.

If you can't put him on a block list or spam list you only have one option if he is JUST emailing you lovely "get righteous or die" mail. Get a different address and send out the new address to those you want to keep in touch with.

If this individual is close by and would flip out you can only just silence the noise by avoiding it but if he is distant and is not a physical risk then I personally would fight fire with a little of his own water. Don't know if you are a believer or not and that is completely between you and God but one of the fundamental beliefs of Christianity is that Christ is our only judge, and he died for our sins, effectively removing any others ability to be good judges of our actions. Anyone who is judging others like this guy is basically calling Jesus Christs atonement a worthless piece of trash. I'd say something like this " Unless you have risen to Christs level of righteousness, you have no right to rebuke me for anything. And being a little more like HIM would be a good start".

I would bet that his ears are turned off or he'd be hearing this from his preacher on a pretty regular basis over the pulpit...so change email addresses or block him...

This is real easy block his email and stop reading them. You don't have to open anything you don't want to read. He sounds like a nut job. I don't know what to tell you to do about the fact he has your physical address. Kinda scarey. I'm not sure the police can even do anything unless he actually harms you, you know how the legal system is, but if he does send you a threatening email I would go to the cops whether or not that does any good.

Tell him frankly. You don't want to talk with him and ask if he could atleast stop sending you e-mails. If still not, well, change your e-mail address, ignore his mails and tell your love ones about it so they could understand.

In the end, he will be tired and would tend to stop. He's just freaking out because he knew that he could make pranks on you and would get affected. If you would ignore him from time to time. Well, he'll be out of your world.

Just think, he's not there. He's just somebody else you don't know.
