My front steps are damaged leading into my home, I have a landscaper coming soon to fix them, but until then I do not want to be responsible if someone falls on them. We have homeowners insurance, but until they are fixed, can I post "Use at your own risk" signs on them?

You can post what ever you want, but if someone gets hurt on them, guess who is responsible. Why not block them off and ask people to come to another door. Hopefully your person is going to be coming soon. Halloween is coming soon and you don't want kids pounding up and down the steps. Make sure your light is off and the stairs are blocked before then. Better yet, that they are fixed.

It seems you can put all the signs out that you want....but the person that gets hurt will say they didn't understand English...or they can't read...or they have limited sight. Do like one person has said...get that ' CAUTION or DO NOT ENTER ' tape and block off the porch to everyone...so even a blind man could not get through.

Use at your own risk and similar signs can often work against you as it means you have acknowledged that there is a problem and can put you at even greater risk of being sued than if you plead ignorance

Yes you can, but I doubt that will absolve you of any liability. If you block all practical access to your steps that will demonstrate a good faith effort at least.
The only way to get rid of your liability is to make it impossible for the steps to be used or repair them.

The Sign means nothing....Block them off and tape them off.

It doesn't matter what you put up around your home, you may warn your guests but, your still libel for them. So whatever you post, your still libel for them as far as a lawsuit.
