If our life is unbearable we have the right to STOP life.
Only the people in extreme pain and agony understand that.
The church and the government should back off and digest in silence their own pathetic arguments.

We allow our pets to have a death in dignity. We should allow our terminally ill people to also have a death in dignity.

NO. Euthanasia is putting something to death that has not expressed an opinion about it. If I am in agony and still have the power to communicate that, I hope they will send me softly into slumber. They can let me go peacefully or in terror and agony. The end result is the same. But the journey can be inhumane. Don't start with the "whatabouts" and "whatifs". Either way ya go, mistakes are going to be made. Maybe the pain would have stopped next week. Dr. calls heads, but tails wins, widow sues. Hospital bankrupt. My answer is No. Not yet. And there is no hope in sight for changing it in America.

Euthanasia probably shouldn't be legalized. Just because you are in extreme pain doesn't mean that you will always be, or that you can't take painkillers. If the person is in that kind of pain and is going to die then that is more understandable. But it's never 100% certain that a person is going to die, and if it is the amount of time they have left is hardly enough time to go through with Euthanasia.

Even if Euthanasia was legalized, there would have to be extremely strict government protocols in place. You couldn't just allow your best friend to do it or murderers would plead that the person asked them to kill them.

Okay those people in "extreme" pain get dilaudid or morphine drip until the pain is relieved and eventually these people die as they become more sedated to TREAT the pain and then their respirations decrease and they pass away peacefully and painlessly.

Got that-painlessly. that is what HOSPICE is for (a dignify way and supportive way to die without someone killing you)

Where the hell is the respect for life. Do you realize what a "pandora box" would be opened up with legalizing Euthanasia - Let's see - we kill the unborn and now the living too. we humans value nothing don't we

I think legalized euthanasia is great, but how do you regulate it? Who gets to decide that this person is fatally ill or that this person is just depressed. A lot of mentally ill people will try to kill themselves via this vehicle--if you really want to commit suicide, this is the best way to do it right.

I'm all for people being able to escape terribly painful terminal illnesses, but there are a lot of issues that still need to be ironed out.

I think euthanasia should be legal because I know I wouldn't want to live in unbearable pain with no hope of recovery.

No way, we have no right to take our own lives, and by the way what if the Bible is true and you take your own life and end up spending eternity in Hell. That doesn't sound to promising to me. I don't believe our Government has the right to do this unless they want to put it to a public vote nation wide or let each state decide by vote.

Ok.Let's think about this.Whom do you pick to euthanis first?Should others have the right to end a life? And what if it was yours? When do you give up hope?Or should we?I can understand about pain but taking a life is so wrong.

You cannot escape the pain already intended! If you gave LIFE to yourself, then you must have the right to take it also. You did not! Suffering is cleansing, yet no one can except it and bear it with courage and dignity!
