I have been noticing this a lot lately. I bumped into an old girlfriend lately, but before I saw her.. I saw her boyfriend who I had not yet met and thought immediately of her (like I saw her face in him... strange I know). She then came up behind him and I realised it was her boyfriend.

I have never noticed this however - I do think there are large groups of people who look very much alike but are not blood relatives - this is obviously due to alien-human hybrid clones who have reproduced over the last few centuries ...
;)
ok, I'm just kidding - but does anyone remember the X-Files episode that suggested a similar scenario?!? A fascinating notion.
As for couples looking a like - I'm more apt to believe people and their dogs looks a like.
Hope you find THE answer.

I have seen some couples where the people resemble each other. That makes it more noticeable than when you see the far more common case of couples that don't look a thing alike.
Outward appearance indicates nothing about the person on the inside, so looking alike doesn't mean they were meant for each other. I could look just like a woman who happens to be a complete witch. That doesn't mean we were meant for each other.

definite, i've got observed that. and that i've got additionally observed that lots of individuals decide the compatability on how comparable the two people look alike. So if a guy and a woman have been courting and regarded comparable, people say that they seem to be a lovable couple or they belong mutually. I agree, its weird and wonderful. haha

It's possible we're attracted to people who look similar and associate it with similar interests...
Or you know when you're in a relationship for awhile and you start to dress alike without realizing it? You're so close you start subconsciously imitating the other person. Maybe it's something like that.

I pity any man who resembles me...I'd be constantly fixing his hair..putting make up on him..putting him on a diet..making him wear perfume. He might even end up with botox or plastic surgery. I think it would be AWFUL to have a boyfriend who looks like me. I'd be VERY critical of him...soul mate or not. I do believe it's important for people to have common interests though.
