How can I get Media Passes for a extremely popular Concert? My School's Newspaper wants me to interview a band.
Who should I contact, and how should I ask. Thanks. Sorry I am new at this..and My Journalism teacher seems to think I can get Media Passes fairly easy.

Call or email the band's record label and ask for the publicist -- all bands have them. The publicist is in charge of getting the media to write about the band, and one of the ways they do that is by handing out media passes. It's their job and they're glad to do it.

The exception is a band that's very popular. The publicist may figure that all you want to do is see them for free. So you may get turned down. If you really want to talk to musicians, choose a local or up-and-coming band.

The advice from the other guy was right on target. Let me just add that, while you might get lucky, your chances of success are not very good. Most of the top acts don't bother doing interviews except at the start of the tour. Go down a notch, and sometimes band members will talk to relevant radio stations or mainstream media members. But high school reporters are quite a longshot.
