Do a search for sound driver of the type motherboard you have.

Speakers don't require drivers.
Sound Cards do require drivers. It's likely 'that' is what you're looking for.
If you know what sound card you have, or if you have a brand name computer, it's very easy to get. Just go to the manufacturer, enter the model number, and go to downloads (might be under support, tech help . . etc)
If you have no clue at all, you'll have to crack your case. If it's a sound card, you shoudl be able to find the company name and a model number. Worst case senario, you can find the FCC ID and look it up on the FCC database. (just do a web search)

From there you can go to the manufacture sight and find it. If they don't have it or it's too old, check out www.driversguide.com.

Your computer's manufacturer's web site probably has drivers. Go there and look for support/downloads, and look up your model.

Find another pc, download the OEM drivers from the Dell website for that particular website, and install.
