The USF Bulls are kicking @$$ and taking names. They just came off a nice win over Auburn, their ranked #2 in BCS standings, they’ve got Rutgers on Thursday (a game in which I believe they’ll dominate), and are possibly on their way to finishing the season undefeated. Yet folks are saying they don’t deserve to be in the national championship game. I disagree. Anyone have an opinion on this? I understand the issue of ratings and the draw of the “big” schools. But just because a school has a storied history doesn’t mean you’re going to get a quality match up in the national championship. Case in point – last year’s game. I mean come on…Boise State would have given Florida more competition than the Buckeyes provided. So, the issue of the big draw aside, up and coming programs like USF do deserve to be in the national spotlight and raise that AFCA trophy. Perhaps the bigger issue is the inherent flaws of the BCS system, especially given how Auburn, Utah, and USC were done a few years back.

its too early for undefeated talk (i really think they'll lose to Rutgers tomorrow but thats just my opinion)

In order for USF to be a lock for the title game, they will need Ohio St. to lose a game because if (and thats a big IF) LSU wins out they'll play for the title no doubt about because of they're strong schedule and I cant see USF getting into the title game over an also undefeated Ohio St...thats just my take on the situation..like I said, its too early to talk about going undefeated and the title game especially after all of this year's upset

It depends on who else is around and what their records are. So far, USF has two good wins. Otherwise they have played a 2-5 school and some Div 1AA schools, of which only one has a winning record. Ohio State has even worse competition; they have played no ranked teams and 3 1AA teams.

The National Champion is supposed to be the best team in the land; not the one with the best record against weak competition. If that were the case everyone would try to do what Bobby Bowden did and turn down joining a league like the SEC so he could play in the ACC and win a national championship.

Should all run the table from this point on, USF will probably be in the championship game, but will not be considered the best team because of their competition. The title will be a joke.

Certainly...their strength of schedule is at least as strong as OSU's....and honestly stronger, as the only real match they play is Michigan...and we still have no clue how good they are, or aren't.

People Hate on S. Florida because they are a Johnny come lately school, with no tradition......and some people are trying to make themout to be a poor mans Miami...nothing but thugs. But so far, those "thugs" have played some real good football......and desreve some respect for it. Maybe this is where THEIR tradition will begin.......

(BTW...I'm sick of hearing OSU fans say how they beat 3 #2's last year. Everyone knows the preseaon polls dont mean squat....the only ranking that actually comes close to showing how good a team is would be the final regular season one. Where was Texas ranked at the End of the year? Who the heck was the other #2 anyhow...and where did they end the year? I know the third was Michigan...and against a 2 loss USC, we saw how well that held up....)

If any team goes undefeated then yes they should get a shot. I just love how this will piss off the owners of the BCS. Cant wait to hear how low the raitings will be if the National title game is between South florida and Boston College.

If they go undefeated they will be the Big East Champions. Unless more than two teams go undefeated, South Florida will be in the BCS National Championship game.

Yes, USF has played a better schedule than Ohio State, and they still have a solid schedule ahead, if they can go undefeated, then why not? It will piss everyone off, and maybe cause the BCS to get thrown out!

If they go undefeated than yes they would have beaten 3 ranked teams maybe 4 if Lousville gets there act together.

The real question is should OU be in the game if they are undefeated, who have they played.

yes because unlike ohio state the bulls have beaten worthy oppenents like auburn and west virginia and will likely beat rutgers too. ohio state has had the softest schedule of anyone and does not deserve to be in the top 5.

this is why i support a playoff system. if they win out they deserve to be in the national championship game, but there are still a lot of 1 loss teams that could easily beat the bulls. even 2 loss florida would even deystroy them
