I need help. I have a full time job at a plant that is so physical, I can hardly handle it, that pays about 9 dollars an hour. If I get hired on in about 3 months to a year, I'll be making about 10.50 an hour. I'm off on Fridays and Saturdays. I just found out that I'm going to lose my house. My boyfriend can't help me either, he can hardly help himself. Can any one offer any ideas on how I can make some extra cash?
Other details
I'm twenty, no family, no credit, and all I have to work with is a HS Diploma. No cash to spend on making money.

I thought things were getting better and that i might be able to go to school to become a high school teacher, but i guess that's out of the question too.

You are doing great to have a house at 20 with no help. Take in some roommates. Try waiting tables.

Are you renting? Or paying a mortgage? Why can't your BF help? I hope he has a job...if not...I would kick him out, and look to rent a room, to a nice girl with a good job...Charge first and last months rent, 1/2 of all utilites. Set up rules, and grocery tasks, and use of the kitchen and clean up.
Extra cash....well you are already working full time...But, maybe you can put up an offer at the local schools to Tutor students, say elementary age with homework in the evening, can do by the hour, say $12.00 per hour.....Also, work up a contract, so if by chance the kid doesn't show up you still get paid, because you lose by having that appt open and no one showing up. As you could have been tutoring another student. I would have gladly paid that for someone to help my Son. With your school teaching desires, it would certainly go in your favor.
Well, your days off you can run errands for SeniorCitizens, or sometimes, neighbors that would rather pay someone a modest fee to grocery shop, and do Post Office stuff. I would check with your town's or cities Senior Center, as to their requirements. Also, the local Chamber of Commerce may have a business in town that needs someone for a couple days a week...your days off to run errands for them....Business people have private lives too, and the load is large sometimes...you may be able to pick up and drop off kids to baseball games or stuff like that....????? Charge from the time you leave your front door....per hour or portion thereof....

Are you buying this house? Or renting?

My advice to you is to GO TO COLLEGE. Do it now, while youre still young and with no children. If you can live on a campus, it will be one of the best things. Food, work, housing is all located in a central area - no bills for you to worry about. Is there a school nearby that has dorms AND lets you live there and get an associates degree? Then its a 2 year investment instead of 4.

Actually, if you go to school, you may be able to get grants to help with your school and living expenses. You should fill out a FAFSA at http://www.fafsa.ed.gov/ and see what your expected family contribution is.

You should also call your bank and tell them about your financial troubles. Even if you pay less or not at all for a little while, it is better for them than repossessing your house in the long run.

If talking with your bank doesn't work, get in touch with your local HUD office. They may be able to help you pay for it or help you negotiate with your bank. www.hud.gov/

Try applying with your local temp agency. The jobs don't last very long, but they usually pay more than you are making and will likely be in an office, so no physical labor.

I hope things get better for you!

I'm in a very similar position as you...except I don't even have a job. I can't get a job where I just moved to because I don't speak Spanish and it is all Mexican here :(

there are always online classes you can take...just make sure they are from a real accredited college. also...have you filled out a fafsa? sometimes the gov't will lend you money. the only thing you can do is find a way to go to school so you can get paid more. i wish you luck and if you ever need to talk you can talk to me.

Delivering pizza pays better and is less physical. If you have a car and enough gas for the first night, you will get enough CASH tips to keep gas in the car until your first check.

sell the house before it goes into foreclosure
don't use the money, keep it in an interest bearing
account. Or find a couple of roommates if you can.
