It's called a vaginal ultrasound...period. It is usually used when the fetus is 12 weeks or less because it's so small, the vaginal ultrasound can get closer and pick up on the baby. On a normal ultrasound, the baby is so small and your having to go through the stomach, and fluids so it is harder to see. They also use vaginal ultrasounds for other things besides pregnancy such as - to view ovaries or cysts. Hope this helps!

it is not a camera but yes they often check your cervix and other stuff through a transvaginal ultrasound. They insert a transducer into your vagina and can often see certain things better that way. I just had it done and it is not bad...it is a bit strange but not uncomfortable physically. I would not be to worried about it cause it does not hurt and can be very helpful with discovering any problems you may have wiht your cervix. Good luck!

yes, although it's really not a camera. It's a transvaginal ultrasound wand. If you are having sex, you really don't have anything to worry about with it hurting. It's only about an inch around. I've had it done twice and it is not painful.

yes. I personally have had it done several times.

I don't know the official name of it, they just tell me that I am having a vaginal ultrasound.. It isn't a camera, it is a sort of wand like thing that that sets off ultra sound waves just like a regular ultrasound.

It doesn't hurt

When they do a vaginal ultrasound they use what looks like a dildo and insert it into your uterus. I have never had a vaginal one, just the normal ones but I saw the instrument on the table and she said it was for a vaginal ultrasound. It looks like a play toy you would buy at Giggles.lol.. my friend had one and she said it didnt hurt but she was a little nervous.

Transvaginal pelvic ultrasound........Transvaginal pelvic ultrasound is a test that uses reflected sound waves to produce a picture of the uterus and other structures inside the pelvis. It does not use X-rays or other types of radiationrasound
