some people need to step away from that report button !!!! some are being given violation notices that dont deserve it and when it happens to my contacts i get annoyed!! if its your question should you not be the one that has the right to report them ,,not someone that comes along and doesnt like what the person has to say??

I think twice and three times before reporting someone, but if its explicit or illegal or if I feel it's just trolling, I'll report them.

I've been reported several times for things which were totally within the rules, but Y!A refused to discuss it or reinstate the points or anything. I found out by elimination that it was trolls who didn't like my point of view. That should never be a reason for getting a violation.

I had one of my answers pulled, no reason, no nothing. So I emailed Yahoo and actually had it over turned. They didn't re post my question but I got my points back.

I think people are confused about what to report and what not to report. And the guidelines also state that if you report things that are found not a violation you lose standing within the community, but if report actual violations then your standing with in the society increases. How much pressure is that?

I'll admit it, I reported this explicit question about this girls first time with anal sex. It was under polls and surveys and I think she thought that if she told her story there and then ask what others think of that act she'd get away with it. AND SHE DID! The details of her experience were sexually graphic she didn't leave out one detail.

But yet my friend gets his question pulled because the title said Hello.............and then the question was in the additional details.

That's when I gave up on reporting.

There is no consistency, ebb or flow to the system at all. Because the yahoo screener may not find the question objectionable but the person next to them might. So it's 50-50 as to what gets pulled. So sad.

Rarely do people agree with everyone. Some of the people doing this are mad because you have more points than they do, some think that tough and direct answers shouldn't be given, and some people do it just for laughs. I have many violation notices and it doesn't make me lose not even 1 second of sleep. It's not exzctly a forum full of intelligent people giving proper and true answers or questions for that matter. There are far too many multi-posters & even more that think it's cool to spread their ignorance. Don't sweat the small stuff. Just because you were violated doesn't mean you were wrong. It seems to be more of a standard to just violate a person just because someone reported them.

I have been reported a few times and it wasn't for what I said, it was how I said it. I at least admit it. I have also gotten a couple violations turned around after explaining why I said things. You really have to be rude to get reported and the violation proceded with. It doesn't just happen because of an answer someone didn't like.

It's a fact of life here on Y!A... has been probably from the beginning... In violations the cards are stacked against you because Y!A TOE and Guidelines are written in such a way that it is almost impossible not to offend enough to break at least one of them. However one can still protest a violation and win... I've done it.. tho not often... most times I've not convinced Y!A to restore my points... It is sad that there are those that are so childish that they feel the need to exert dominance over everyone.

You have to understand that yahoo answers is a forum for all ages, and this is why it is deemed necessary to have terms of service. Questions and answers alike can get quite hostile, volatile and explicit and are not appropriate for a child to be reading.

If you are unable to abide by the terms of service then you should not be using such a public forum.

I was reoprted for complainignthat someone here was repeatedly posting a joke instead of a question. It was OK the first time, but over and over? My post was that she should find a new joke :)

I didn't lose any sleep over it. She seems to have stopped.
