That's were it seems to be headed, but people are naive and don't really think about it. They fail to realize that Presidential powers have increased sharply since 9/11. If we continue to ignore this trend we will end up a military dictatorship.

The democratic socialists are the ones in charge now and have been for several decades. i.e "DEMOCRACY". No party will save this country at this point. The people really need to wake up and handle the matter as individuals in one common voice. The reestablishment of "true freedom" and "independence" is a long and trying road to travel, not much traffic on it neither, but its beginning to pick up somewhat. Just keep in mind that with the restoration of our "republic" will come great responsibility on the part of each individual to act upon in a "self disciplined" measure. Though i believe the possibilities would be endless if we could just get back to it. That's where the real battle lies.

The USA is one of the most generous Nations in the World. If the U.S. cut off all foreign aid, that would become painfully obvious in a hurry.
There is no war for oil.
Sure there was Intel about potential attacks on the U.S., but unfortunately nobody had the specifics, and without those it is impossible to stop.
As far as the Patriot Act, it does not bother me because I am protected by laws regarding the Act and not one single American has lost one single right under the Patriot Act. It's only scary if you don't understand the content of it.
It's naive to think a third party candidate would have that much control. Congress holds the power.

No. You're absolutely right! Sell your stocks, your car, your house. Buy a ticket out before it all collapses! They are conspiring against people like you right now to take everything away. We are all behind you in the immediate action to DO something about this.
We're right behind you. Really. Any second now you'll hear us following you out of the country. Keep going, it's a disaster back here, don't turn around...
(See the rest of you at the party. Give him a couple of years in a socialist country and he'll be back).

that sort of question has been asked for the last 50 years, we are not an Empire and we will be around for quite a while longer.

It still amazes me to see people in a dither about the patriot act. I haven't lost a single freedom; I can still read what I want, post what I want, and transact whatever I want too. I haven't been burdened once by this "horrible" loss of our freedom.
America will implode from with in. Once it starts there will likely be foreign interests to insure \ help it along.
