I just got a lap top that is VISTA OS and I don't like it. I tried to downgrade it to XP and it says incompatible. Is there a way to change it back to XP because I personally prefer XP than VISTA.

download virtual pc 2007 from microsoft.com (free) and run xp through virtual pc. most new laptops don't support drivers for xp even if you could install the os.

I hate windows Vista myself because nothing works right with it.
Uninstall Vista and install XP it's the only way to go.

I dont think that you can. YOu would have to take it back to the store and buy windows xp for whatever its running for and then have someone help you install it. Your best bet is that if you have a warranty or just purchased it really recently then return it and get one with windows xp.

You will need to format and install XP by purchasing it or using a c.d. you already own.

You can also dual boot both operating systems which will give you alot of choices:
