Yes - for two years. It is in the Constitution, thanks to Bill Clinton's amendment. Did you ask Bill to do that? I didn't. And if you elect Hillary, she will find a way to amend that to fifteen or more years, that you will never vote for a president again.

Yes he can declare martial law and postpone the election. Why would you want to have an election during the chaos anyway? The fact is you must admit that Bush would be the right man for the job if that happens. I would rather have Bush with his finger on the trigger than some liberal who would surely cause us to lose WW3.

I fear that if World War 3 happens, we won't have to worry who is still in the White House because a 3rd World war will involve nuclear weapons and NO ONE will survive that.....

WW III is already here. Bin Laden started it on 9-11-01 and all of the radical Muslims are following suit.

Why would we want the dingbat who started it to stay in office? In fact, if he does, my vote is for instant impeachment.
I'd even deal with a year of Cheney if that nitwit starts something else he doesn't know how to finish.
Thank God for the Constitution.

No -- the Constitution is specific and has no exceptions or loopholes -- term of office ends in January 2009. Period.
Attempting to stay in office longer is a direct attack on the Constitution and a direct violation of his oath of office -- he would be staging a coup.
And every military officer and every officer of the courts -- having sworn to uphold and defend the Constitution -- would be duty-bound to stop him.

It is specifically forbidden in the constitution. We have had a change of president during war before. There is nothing to stop it from happening again.

Yes, and I think we'd want him to.
The last thing we'd need is mass casualties and destruction, and be subjected to endless finger pointing and campaigning.
The last thing a couple million people who lost families, friends, and property would need to hear is someone saying " If i am elected-----:"
