a blank blue screen comes on then my desktop picture then after about 10 mins my desktop icons come on then this message; "ALU WSA start up () error " is displayed in the centre of the screen how can I fix it ?

Probably that is a networked startup. The error comes up when you are not connected to the network or the server that runs that startup is not available.
ALU stands for Arithmetic and Logical Units
WSA stands for Windows Sockets API

I think you should Restore your comp , if you dont have a restoring disc well buy one , or if you still have warranty just give it back, i say buy a restoring disc its not that expensive
