I want to put an Ad in my local paper about the birth of our son.
Does this sound OK to you?

We are delighted to announce the safe arrival of our son Joshua, born on the 17th October 2007. Many thanks to all who work on the maternity unit at the Derby City Hospital for their sheer dedication and hard work to bring our beloved Son into this world.
Does that sound ok to you guys?
Its going to cost me £50 to put it in, but i really want to have it in the local paper, and can order it now on line (which I am one click away from doing) but want a little advice first?

That sounds absolutely fine. It says everything that is needed.
Some also add whether it is a first grandchild for either side & whether the baby is a brother or sister to other children & babies weight., but what you have put is fine. Probably cost a lot more to add.
Congratulations to you both & to little Joshua too. May he find health, wealth & happiness in his life x

Congrats to you both. The ad is great but I would change one little thing... I would add the word "help" bring our beloved son.... because after all, your girlfriend did much of the work herself and it was with their help that he was brought into this world. All the best.

most of it sounds fine , but just 2 nit pick there r a few things i would change. first I would have the names of you and tour partner first so, paul...a nd.....are delighted to announce etc I dont think there is a need to add the word safe, and also dedication and work are sort of the same thing so i would take out and hard work. but the rest sounds great.

Sounds great. You might want to thank you girlfriend for all her hard work! The maternity staff did a great job I'm sure but they only put in a couple of hours.
Capiche....

sounds great
go for it because a birth is something to celebrate.
may i suggest that u keep a copy for your son so that he can see
it when he is older.
you could also frame it.
sorry my answer is long but in my family birth is celebrated the minute the baby is born.
